The Blacksmiths Table restaurant Washington Village to re-open

Good news! Following the closure of the Blacksmiths Table restaurant in October 2013, which I covered in a blog post: http://bouncermangel.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/the-blacksmiths-table-restaurant.html, the restaurant has been sold and is currently undergoing some refurbishment.  The new owners have ripped out the old kitchen, which, judging by the contents of the skip outside, is a good thing: the kitchen was in a terrible state - I'm surprised anyone survived eating anything served up from that kitchen during the previous restaurant's 25 year history.

It is rumoured that the new owners also run Jayelle's, which is a pleasant cafe on the sea front at Seaburn, Sunderland.  A cafe/restaurant is proposed which will open during the day. Unfortunately, I have no idea when, but there is certainly a lot of activity there.
